Your measurements are yours.

The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier and no third-party tracker of any kind. Its only third-party library is the map renderer. Nothing you record is sold, shared for marketing, or used to build a profile of you.

This policy describes the GEOM iOS app and the GEOM cloud at cloud.geom.be. The data controller is MADEP BV, Belgium. For any privacy question or request, email email us.

The short version
No account is required, and offline is the default. You can install GEOM, connect a receiver and record an entire survey without ever creating an account. In that state your measurements never leave your iPhone. Data reaches our servers only after you deliberately sign in and sync a project.
On your device
What GEOM stores locally Your survey content: points, lines, layers, feature codes, project settings and any DXF drawings you import. Precise location from your GNSS receiver or the iPhone's own GPS, used to draw your position on the map and to record points when you press capture. Photos you attach to points. NTRIP correction-service credentials, held in the iOS Keychain. App preferences in the standard app settings store. Deleting the app removes all of it.
In the cloud
Only if you sign in and sync Your email address and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself). The projects you choose to sync, including their coordinates, point attributes, photos and DXF files. Subscription status. Files are stored using Cloudflare R2. We keep this data for as long as your account exists. See Deleting your account below.
Third parties
Everyone who ever sees any of it This is the complete list.

Basemap tile hosts. When the map draws, your device requests tiles directly from the OpenStreetMap Foundation and from Esri (ArcGIS World Imagery). Those requests carry your IP address and reveal which part of the world you are looking at. We do not proxy them and we receive nothing from them.

Your NTRIP correction provider. If you configure a correction service (FLEPOS, WALCORS or any other caster), GEOM sends it the credentials you entered. For network/VRS mount points the protocol also requires the rover to push its current position up to the caster so the correct virtual reference station can be generated. That means the provider sees where you are working. You choose the provider; we are not party to that relationship.

Lemon Squeezy. Handles subscription payments for the cloud as merchant of record. Card details go to them and never reach us.

There is no advertising network, data broker, or analytics vendor in that list, in the app or in the cloud.
Location
Used to survey, never to track GEOM asks iOS for location while in use only. It holds no always-on location permission, and uses your position for the two purposes you would expect: drawing where you are on the map, and recording a point when you press capture. The app declares no tracking domains and never asks for permission to track you across other companies' apps or websites, because it does not do that.

So that a survey is not ruined when the receiver link drops as your screen locks, iOS lets GEOM keep the connection to a paired accessory open in the background, and a receiver on that link keeps sending its position. That stream maintains the link and your current position. It goes nowhere else, and it stops when you disconnect the receiver.
Deleting your account
In the app, permanently, without asking us Open Projects → Account → Delete account… and confirm with your password. This erases your cloud account outright: every synced record, every uploaded photo and drawing, your sign-in, and any active subscription is cancelled. It is irreversible and we keep no shadow copy. The survey data already on your iPhone is deliberately left alone. It is yours, and you can keep exporting it as CSV or DXF. You can also delete the account from the web app, or email us and we will do it.
Your rights
GDPR You have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, take it elsewhere, restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. Export to CSV and DXF is built into the app, so portability needs no request. For anything else, email email us. We answer within 30 days. Our lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you for account and sync data, and your consent for device permissions such as location, camera and photo access, which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.
Children
Not a children's product GEOM is a professional surveying tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
How you will know If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, for changes that affect what leaves your device, tell account holders by email before they take effect.
